Tube Passsenger Boycot

The tube staff are on strike today so there are no tubes in running in
London until 18:30 this evening, an event that happens a few times a
year.

Now it's time for the passengers to send a message.

It would be good if they manage to pull it off but I'm not convinced
that passengers will support it in great numbers.

When I was there last summer, someone leaped in front of the train that I was trying to catch, and the whole station was shut down in a few minutes. Oddly, while on the Interrail to Paris a few days later, someone did the same thing before the train reached the city, so I was stranded outside of Paris. Even *more* oddly, when I was in Norway (years ago) training to Oslo, another person jumped in front of *that* train! (As a train passenger, I seem to inspire people to want to stop living.)

What is the deal with all the train jumpers? (Lack of handguns, I'm guessing, unless it's simply frustrated Tube passengers.)

Wow! That's quite a track record. Perhaps you should travel by car ;)

Come to thing of it I have been on the train & tube a few times where they've blamed being late on the fact that there was a fatality at one of the stations. I haven't seen anyone step out in fornt of a train though. People stepping out infront of my Vespa on the way in to work while riding through London is another matter. I get a few of those a day. It's better than caffine at waking you up in the morning.
