iGrill

Perfect for those all night coding sessions...

The George Foreman USB iGrill.

*Grumble*

Lousy bank holidays...

I got two blocks on the way to work before the fact that there wasn't any traffic to be seen on the roads triggered the realisation that it's a bank holiday today.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Ramon & Karin for being the pround parents of a new AMD 64 3500+ machine. May she give you many months of joy and stay virus free.

I have adopted their old machine and promise to give it a good home.

Rollerblade Mob

On the way to Digress on Friday night I was almost run over by a mob of about a hundred rollerbladers racing down Regent street.

Unfortunately my reflexes wern't good enough to get a decent shot.

I had a good evening though and caught up with some friends that I hadn't seen since my long hair & goatee days.

Have you got any leave left?

My next holiday destination.

Grow your own spares

Cool.

It was bound to happen soon. I wonder if I can get an extra finger on each hand to increase my typing speed.

Lucky Swedes

Apparamtly Bredbandbolage (Broadband bolognese?) is offering 100MB connection for 50 odd quid.

Full article (in English)

BT needs to get their act together. That's not much more than I'm paying for 1MB.

Peeping Tom Virus

RBot-GR taking over your cam?

Hmmm... Scare mongering or real threat? I wonder...

Virtual Girlfriend

Artificial Life are planing to release their first version of Virtual Girlfriend for your mobile. Just like her RL counterpart, you will need to spend real money on her or else she stops speaking to you.

I think they'll have to work on their sales pitch.

Fresh Install

*Sigh* I love a fresh install of Windows... Everything is so responsive and feels crisp and clean.

Pity it doesn't last long.

I forgot to get the serial number from the email from M$ again before starting the install (which meant taking appart my pc and putting the old drive back in, just to read my mail). Other than that it wen smoothly.

Now to see if all my apps work...

New release of 64-Bit XP

Microsoft has released a new version of the 64-Bit XP beta. Still no clue on the release date of the full version.

I'm going to have to dig up an old drive again to install it on. The one that I used last time is sitting in Craigs's machine.

Tut tut

Four days into the auction and not a single bid...

GeForce 6

My graphics card is now two generations behind. It's time to upgrade again.

I can't see myself spending £300+ on a GeForce 6 though.

*Sigh* So many toys... such limited funds.

Maybe I should be playing fewer games and spending more time studying.

Internet Borken...

OK, so it wasn't the whole internet... just BT messing around again.

Jesus!

I think having a dead guy hanging on a cross is a strange way to advertise, even if it is a religion.

Bluetooth Tooth

Hmmm... I do need to go to the dentist some time soon. I wonder if I can hold out until they get this Bluetooth Tooth up to over a Gig.

It's certainly one way to augment your memory...

Is the internet broken?

Something's up today. I've been having problems connecting to Australian and a few US sites since this morning.

Some new worm causing loads of traffic or is it just me?

[Edit] It seems to be affecting UK sites now.

Designer Vespas

4 Australian fashion designers have put up some customised Vespas on eBay to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Pity they didn't use the PX model.

...actually... considering the designs that they came up with it's a good thing.

First snow of the season

...ok, so it's not real snow but they're the first Christmas trees I've seen this year... a sure sign that winter's coming.

Preparing for Emergencies

The UK government has very thoughtfully started advertising a safety booklet that all residents should be receiving in the mail soon.

Have a look at the Department of Vague Paranoia for more info.

Doom 3

Damn it's scary.

It's got to be the most intense game I've played so far. I think I'll be a gibbering ball of nerves if I play it for longer than a few hours at a time.

The combination of the dodgy lighting, scary music, blood curdling screaming coming over the coms and the fact that you have to choose between holding your torch or weapon is doing my head in.

Hats off to the John Carmack and the team at ID.

I was impressed with the 1Gb MMC cards but 2Tb? Awesome!
